About Brooke

Welcome to my site.

I am an Omaha-based artist creating expressionistic mixed-media paintings inspired by science, literature, music, and history. My work incorporates antique books, vintage sheet music, and found papers—materials once treasured, then forgotten—to create layered narratives rich with texture, history, and meaning.

Each piece begins with research and the careful collection of collage materials that support its story. Working with acrylic, oil, watercolor, ink, charcoal, pastel, and metallic pigments, I build complex surfaces that invite viewers to look closely and discover hidden details.

At the heart of my work is an exploration of women's experiences and the ways personal and collective histories shape who we become. Like the layered elements within each painting, we are all formed by fragments of our own stories and those of the generations that came before us.
